Many of our patients receive a referral from their primary care physician. If you do not have a referral, check with your insurance company to see if they require one. If they do, make arrangements to obtain one.

Then, simply call the office of the surgeon to whom you’ve been referred and set up an appointment at the time you prefer. Our pre-registration representative will call you several days before your first visit to make check-in faster and easier.

On the day of your appointment, please bring any x-rays, tests or medical reports related to your treatment. Also, bring a list of all the presciption and non-prescription medications you currently take and the phone number of your pharmacy. Bring your insurance card and a means of payment if you have a co-pay, i.e., cash, check or credit card.

Allow at least an hour for your initial visit. There is convenient parking on-site at both our Edina and Burnsville offices.

If surgery is recommended, we will work with you to schedule it as quickly as is appropriate to the urgency of your diagnosis. Our staff will provide you with any information you need to prepare for your operation. The hospital may also call you a day or two before surgery to finalize registration. (We are affiliated with Fairview Southdale and Fairview Ridges hospitals.) Bring any disability or insurance forms that you need completed to our office and we will assist you with completing them.

After surgery, please call us with any questions you have about your recovery. You may be asked to return for a post-operative visit. Many patients complete care at this point, but others may require more follow-up visits.
